Sakina GREEN™
Living responsibly is an integral part of Sakina Design. As such, we do our best to ensure that Sakina Design products and packaging utilize resources wisely, minimizing waste and pollution.
Look for products with the Sakina GREEN label and the green leaf symbol 
to indicate that they've been produced from sustainable materials, or are otherwise sustainable (organic, FSC certified, etc.). Only eco-friendly materials receive our Green Leaf symbol.
How are Sakina Design products sustainable and eco-friendly?
Frames
Our wall art frames are made from recycled wood. This is done without sacrificing quality, as the strength of the recycled product is greater than virgin wood. Additionally, the company that produces these frames utilizes an eco-friendly manufacturing plant, with furnaces that burn the leftover sawdust from the frames. We use local suppliers and producers to minimize the pollution from shipping products over long distances.
Packaging
We minimize the amount of packaging, to reduce waste. In addition, we use shipping boxes and envelopes made from recycled cardboard and paper.
Greeting Cards
Printed on 100% non-chlorine bleached recycled paper, our cards are printed with soy-based inks. Soy inks are low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and are more eco-friendly than traditional petroleum-based inks as they're more easily removed from paper during the recycling process and the resulting waste isn't hazardous.
Bookmarks
Our bookmarks are FSC-certified, meaning the paper is harvested from sustainable forests, manufactured acid-free and made with Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) virgin fiber content.
